Apparently the guff from MOD is that he was "retired", ah well.

And I did re-emphasized the importance that it is MINI and NOT Mini!!!!

RIP Max - one of the good guys and the first person to say 'Hi' to at my first SCNM meet. James and I will be thinking of you at this sad time Dora. Hugs x Dave

Rosemary and I are both thinking of you at this most difficult of times Dora.

I sent you a text on Monday, but I know you have been busy - I hope you received it OK.

Do feel free to contact me at any time should the need arise. I shall be more than happy to offer any assistance.

Lots of love and all the hugs you need.

Paul.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Max, but from all that has been said about him he sounds like he was a very special man. Our love and thoughts are with you and Borda, Dora.

Oh my,

Just found out about this from my friend Jimbo, who lives up that way and had the pleasure of meeting Max with me in the summer last time I saw him.

Words cannot express how much we will miss Max. Despite moving away from the MINI scene I count all of you as friends, and especially Dora and Max, who were some of the first MINI mad people we met.

Kath and I send you our love at this terrible time. I will give the car a bloody good revving in the morning in celebration of his life.

xxxxx

Tony Kath and Alana.

Thanks peeps for your kind words and thoughts.

Harpo, I received your text thanks, and yes, there were lots going on that day, hence I did not reply.

Just realised I might not have posted the latest newspaper update, so here it is:

http://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/search/3842945.Tributes_to_Wiltshire_soldier_found_dead_in_canal/

It really annoys me when they referred MINI as Mini angry.png

Hope you are holding up Dora, I couldn't believe it the other day, when I read it. sad.png

I still can't believe that he was at the first Unit I was posted to out of training, such a small world. Its amazing how paths can cross and not even realise to years later. He will be missed by a lot of people. smile.png

As for the articles they seem to be written by a child. They could at least bother to get the details right as in The Royal Corps of Signals and Military Secretariat mad.png

You have to talk to the MOD about the guff included in the article, as they provided it! biglaugh.png

I am on the up part of the change curve now, and have gone through the "why me" and "angry" parts, so I am ok, thanks.

I have accepted that I cannot change what is beyond my control, and shall concentrate on matters that I can control or exert influence smile.png

Apparently some form of communication will be going out via the Royal Signals Society or whatever, once we have confirmed the details of his memorial service or whatever. They should know how to communicate properly of all army people, one would hope!!! LOL amazed.png

OMG I have only just read this as I only visit the forum from time to time. I met Max many years ago on the very first run that we organised and was around in the very early days of the SCNM club.

Max my thoughts are with you, your family and close friends.

DK, I'm so sorry to hear the news, I hope your holding up.  We only met the once but you left an impression (and a sticky thingy majig, not sure if you remeber me!)

J.

We have only just seen this tragic news Dora and can't believe what has happened. Max always took the time to chat with us whenever we met up on the MINI runs. Our thoughts are with you, with much love from Brian & Angie.
